Perfume Present is a webshop specializing in Arabic perfumes. Market analysis revealed that the growth of this market is largely driven by social platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels, where a younger audience is active and shares fragrance reviews.Within the market, it stood out that competitors are positioned in a predominantly minimalist and fairly generic way, with little character or differentiating power. This presented a clear opportunity to establish a bold and recognizable brand as a startup.

The biggest challenge in perfume e-commerce is fundamental:

How do you help someone choose a fragrance without being able to smell it?

Additionally, several strategic questions were at play:

Competitors look minimalist and have little differentiation

Arabic perfumes are often positioned in a lower price range

A high-fashion luxury appearance could therefore actually come across as cheap

Product filters in the market are often based on concentration (Eau de Parfum / Eau de Toilette), which says little about how a fragrance actually smells

Solutions

For the positioning, a playful, expressive and iconic style was chosen. Instead of a high-fashion luxury aesthetic, brighter colors, dynamic shapes and a recognizable visual identity were used. This aligns better with a younger audience and with the price range of Arabic perfumes. The playful style combined with accessible prices actually reinforces the feeling of premium quality.At the UX level, multiple steps were taken to make the fragrance experience digitally tangible.

A fragrance quiz was developed in which visitors indicate:Which scent notes appeal to themWhether they prefer sweet or freshWhether they are looking for a strong or subtle fragranceWhat their style is, as an indicator of personality and preference

The result is a webshop that doesn't just sell, but guides. Perfume Present positions itself as a distinctive brand within the Arabic perfume world, where branding, community and conversion come together in one consistent experience.
